School/Center Overview

College Houses brings together undergraduates, faculty, staff, and graduate students to form vibrant residential communities within the larger context of our renowned urban campus. Our mission is to bring the academic life of the classroom into our living spaces. We have roughly 5,600 residents in total, and twelve houses. The architectural styles vary from 24-story modern high-rises with over 800 residents to smaller, 4-story brick Houses with 170 residents. Each House offers countless cultural, academic and recreational events, personal services, and leadership opportunities. Every House is different in its focus and traditions, but all offer the same great amenities and avenues for self-discovery and enrichment.


Reporting to the Executive Director of CHAS, the Director is responsible for strategic direction and oversight of technical functions including departmental data, IT infrastructure, IT project management, data analysis, and development of office systems, policies and procedures. The Director ensures the excellence of all CHC programs and services by effectively allocating resources to meet program goals and is responsible for the continued development of CHC ITA program and the direction of the delivery of IT services for residential students, faculty and staff. Responsibilities include: lead project teams; supervise, evaluate, and monitor performance of staff; set priorities for web design and application development, surveys, data analysis, and reporting projects, server administration (performed by ISC LTS), end-user support, training, equipment deployment and maintenance; oversee operations, space renovations, and AV design projects for Computer Labs, IT Learning Spaces, and Technology Enhanced Program Spaces; communicate effectively with users, students and IT staff; function as technical liaison between CHAS and other University schools and departments involved in campus-wide projects. Manage a combined Computing Budget in excess of $1.2 million.


A Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience and supervisory experience of full time staff are required. Demonstrated strong and current knowledge of information technologies and the ability to lead efforts to assess the efficacy of new technologies that support the residents (students) and staff of College Houses & Academic Services. Excellent problem solving, verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities/projects a must. Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well with internal constituents and external vendors. Previous financial management preferred.
