As a System Administrator in Wharton Computing you will handle scalable enterprise class services and solutions, deploying systems by building automated workflows. You will find yourself leveraging tools such as Salesforce, Splunk, Ansible, and AWS Cloud Formation to deliver services effectively, and report on service stability.

At the Senior level, you will be the service owner for various services, including the Salesforce service team; therein you will ensure that the services we offer are aligned with the needs of our clients, and verify that business value is being delivered appropriately.

Qualifications

Systems Administrator B: Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year of operating systems maintenance and analysis experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Administrators must have experience with either Linux or Windows system administration. You should know at least one virtualization technology. Qualified candidates will be familiar with at least one scripting language, such as Python, Powershell, or Bash Shell scripts. Administrators should have project management experience and should be able to communicate readily with both technically-skilled staff and business-oriented users. You should be comfortable with source control, preferably with Git. You should have a customer-first orientation as a support person.

Preferred experience for the position includes knowledge of configuration management systems such as Ansible, Chef and Puppet. Knowledge or experience of other Devops components, like Jenkins, is desirable. Also helpful is familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). We expect you to have knowledge of troubleshooting, TCP/IP networking and the fundamentals of network security.

Systems Administrator Senior: Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of operating systems maintenance and analysis. This level should already possess knowledge of configuration management, continuous integration, SDLC, networking and security. Senior Administrators should also have experience managing complex and lengthy projects with many stakeholders. Experience building services in AWS and/or administering Salesforce a plus. Senior Administrators should feel comfortable adopting leadership roles, actively seeking out problems to solve and mentoring other team members.
