Division of the Vice Provost for University Life (VPUL) is Penn’s foremost provider of student services and educational access. Duties

The Case Manager will provide mental health support for students who need assistance from CAPS, other university resources, and/or community providers or organizations. This role requires assessment and crisis management skills to address complex mental health concerns. The Case Manager will provide follow-up case management functions through consultation with CAPS clinicians, working closely with the CAPS Referral Coordinator, consulting as needed with campus partnership offices, and ensuring ongoing support and therapeutic engagement with community providers. This individual will develop and coordinate care plans for students, organize follow-up treatment plans following hospitalizations, and will meet with students periodically on an individual basis. The role demands strong clinical skills and good organizational abilities to maintain a database and track/oversee high-acuity presenting concerns. The Case Manager will serve as a member of the Initial Consultation team and will track clinical flow of interventions of a complex nature.

Qualifications

Master’s degree with two years’ experience in a university counseling center or mental health agency addressing the needs of a young adult population. Minimum LSW, LCSW preferred. Clinical experience must include familiarity with case management functions and strategies including stabilization of clients, crisis assessment and management, collaborative communication with multi-disciplinary providers both internally and externally, and a solid knowledge base of a wide range of mental health concerns.
