School/Center Overview

The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is the oldest and one of the finest medical schools in the United States. Penn is rich in tradition and heritage and at the same time consistently at the forefront of new developments and innovations in medical education and research. Since its founding in 1765 the School has been a strong presence in the community and prides itself on educating the leaders of tomorrow in patient care, biomedical research, and medical education.

  • Provide comprehensive contract administration support to Director of Legal Affairs and the Office of Legal Affairs, under the supervision of the Senior Contracts and Project Manager and other senior members of the office and upon receiving requisite training, as follows: (1) submit confidentiality agreements (CDAs) in Penn’s electronic research administration system; (2) coordinate finalization of clinical trial agreements, CDAs, task orders under master clinical trial agreements, amendments to existing clinical trial agreements, and other types of research agreements, including assisting in comparison to prior agreements, following up on status with relevant stakeholders, securing PDF or original signatures, as needed, and distributing final agreements to relevant parties; (3) assist with occasional conference room requests and arranging conference calls; and (4) serve as the backup for the Senior Contracts and Project Manager, as needed.
    * Must have strong communication (including, email communication), prioritization and organization skills and ability to work on routine tasks with a sense of urgency.
    * Must be a collegial, team-player.
    * Working knowledge, upon receiving requisite training, of Penn research administration systems and processes, including electronic research administration systems (e.g. PennERA and the Research Inventory System/RIS).
    * Prior experience doing similar work in a fast-paced environment will be given preference.

A High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Bachelors degree preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in PC software (Microsoft office suite). Knowledge of contractual issues rotating to PI, confidentiality, publication, indemnification and knowledge of scientific/medical forms associated with research
