The ideal person for this position will be providing genetic counseling services to patients and families with rare cancer and other rare diseases, reviewing and writing reports, and perform literature search for new test development and involved with general laboratory administration. The responsibilities include
Clinical:
o Provide physicians and patients with post-test counseling and provide interpretation of Uveal Melanoma and Retinoblastoma test results.
o Participate in weekly Congenital Hyperinsulinism clinical review meetings at CHOP
o Proofread and finalize all genetic test reports. Transmit reports to the referring provider in a timely manner.
o Work with Lab Director in the interpretation of Beckwith Wiedeman Syndrome testing and report writing.
o Maintain paperwork for regulatory bodies.
o Contact physicians and or referral for verification of billing and/or clinical information on tests requested. Oversee data entry into GDL database and assist business staff with invoice generation and interface with central billing
o Maintain and develop paperwork for current and new tests.
Research:
o Supervise and participate in presentations of cases twice a year in Genetics rounds, and other related areas
o Participate in research projects, writing research manuscripts and presenting at national meetings.
o Help with preparation of materials for the IRB including consent forms, study protocols for continuing review submissions.

• The minimum of a Master’s in Genetic Counseling from an ABGC accredited program and 2 years of experience required. Must possess ABGC certification or be board-eligible and pass the certification exam within the first year of employment. Must be eligible to apply for genetic counseling state licensure.
