Duties

This position is to assist Dr. Mario Andres Blanco in starting up and then running his molecular biology laboratory. The individual will function as both a lab manager and as a research technician with some additional staff scientist duties as time allows. As a lab manager, the individual will handle all lab orders, will keep the lab stocked with supplies, and will physically organize the laboratory materials. As a technician the individual will perform numerous molecular and epigenomic experiments pertinent to the biology of myeloid lineage human and mouse cells. These technical duties will include, but are not limited to: mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, molecular cloning, extraction and quantitative analysis of DNA, RNA, and proteins, PCR, cell line engineering, and library preparation for next-generation DNA sequencing.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
