The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology has recently launched a refurbishment and reinstallation of the spectacular galleries that house its renowned collections from Egypt, the Ancient Near East and China— one that will transform the cultural landscape of the university and turn the attention of the arts and culture world onto Philadelphia and Penn.

For over 125 years, the Museum’s mission of research, teaching, collections stewardship, and public engagement has been focused around transforming understanding of the human experience. Penn Museum’s collection of roughly one million objects from stone tools and household items to architectural monuments and fine art objects reveals the daily life as well as the extraordinary accomplishments of people from all over the world. You are invited to be part of the dynamic team now laying the groundwork to sustain and strengthen this major international museum for the future.

Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, the Major Gift Coordinator (MGC) will play a key role in advancing the fundraising efforts that will support the key initiatives of the Penn Museum’s Building Transformation Campaign, which includes a transformational renovation of its historic physical plant and reinstallation of over 44,000 square feet of world renowned collections from the Middle East, Mexico and Central America, Africa, Egypt, and Asia.

In partnership with the Director and Associate Director of Major Gifts, the MGC will work to develop strategies and programs to build an effective pipeline of potential high level donors to the Museum.

* Manage the generation and maintenance of special event invitation lists and documentation of all donor interactions throughout the event process, including but not limited to briefing documents about registrants, personal follow up with invitees, and documentation of attendance, follow up communication, and next steps.
