Duties

Responsible for the delivering the following outcomes to enable rapid activation of research projects (clinical trials, sponsored programs, etc.) for the Abramson Cancer Center in accordance with Penn policies:

Under minimal direction, serve as the primary contact and liaison for the Office of Legal Affairs at the Abramson Cancer Center regarding contract administration and various internal and external departmental and cross functional teams, including but not limited to, reviewing, negotiating and finalizing task orders under master clinical trial agreements, amendments to research agreements, and so on. Develop and execute project plans, ensuring that all clients and stakeholder objectives are met. Responsible for the effective management of all designated projects and their associated schedules, including the coordination of all deliverables and requirements of the entire cross-functional project team for contract administration. Ensure all projects are completed according to mutually agreed upon internal and external timelines in accordance with the University’s policies and procedures. Ensure that the Director of Legal Affairs, her legal team and clientele are aware of issues that will impact timely project completion or cost, and pro-actively seek to identify and communicate any risks.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree and 3 to 5 years of project and work flow management or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Ability to direct the diagnosis of work flow problems, critical paths and institute remedies.
    * Ability to read and understand contract agreements and legal risks and understand financial metrics and identify remedies to financial issues.
    * Customer service orientation with a strong problem solving approach.
    * Must have strong verbal and written communication skills (including, email communication), prioritization and organization skills
    * Ability to work on routine tasks with a sense of urgency.
    * Must be a collegial team-player and detail-oriented and exhibit curiosity about learning and growing in this position.
    * Prior experience doing similar work in a fast-paced environment will be given preference.
