The World’s First Business School

In 1881, American entrepreneur and industrialist Joseph Wharton established the world’s first collegiate school of business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Wharton’s pioneering vision was to produce graduates who would become ‘pillars of the state, whether in private or in public life.’ The Wharton School maintains a long tradition of educating visionary business leaders in academia, business, government, and not-for-profit organizations.

- Establish, build, communicate and maintain the overall design direction, UX/UI guidelines, and implements design standards across all products and features
- Lead full suite of user research testing including methods to uncover what users need across various domain products.
- Conducting primary research, exploring behaviors and motivations, and working with team of designers, product managers, engineers, and researchers to develop new features and scale large platforms seamlessly
- Design and craft pixel-perfect interfaces with a high attention to detail
- Practice a highly efficient, iterative design process with light support documentation
- Create awesome icons and logos to implement across a range of products and features
- Ability to create wireframes, low to hi-fidelity prototypes as well as all product visual design components
- Brainstorm and prototype navigation solutions for flexible, dense layouts
- Expand upon existing template designs, UI components, and style guidelines
- Design with an awareness and understanding of browser sizes, device capabilities, and product functionality
- Deliver UI prototypes, mockups, and detailed design specifications
- Understand and design utilizing web standards, design-thinking, and UI/UX best practices


A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience designing robust user interfaces for rich, interactive online products.
- Experience leading user experience and/or user interface design teams with demonstrated launched products
- Experience conducting user research through full lifecycle of product from prototypes to engineering feature refinement
- Fluency with Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Fluency or strong understanding of HTML/CSS and HTML5/CSS3
- Experience with prototyping tools such as Omnigraffle,, Balsamiq, or HTML5
- Solid understanding of UX/UI design principles and industry best practices
- High attention to detail across all deliverables
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile, and deadline-driven environment to include: ability to work closely with others in a team, comfortable in rapid prototype iteration, usability testing methods, and front-end UI engineering best practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Clear understanding of responsive web design and flexible layouts
- Excellent conceptual and problem-solving skills illustrating a thoughtful design process
- A strong online portfolio displaying UX/UI solutions and delivered projects
- BA/BFA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, product, industrial), Interactive CS, HCI, or a related field
- Excellent systems thinker with a talent for implementing consistent design patterns across products
- Good understanding of how your designs are built by engineering teams
- Highly experienced with front-end asset creation and management such as HTML5; CSS preprocessors such as SASS; Layout & concept wireframes; Experience with charting libraries
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience designing for multi-platform products (web, native apps, tablet, desktop, etc.).
- Knowledge of front-end coding tools and version control software
- Experience in a start-up or similar fast-paced, agile environment
