The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is the oldest and one of the finest medical schools in the United States. This position will support the faculty, residents, and fellows of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in the preparation for, conduct of, and completion of any and all Human Subjects Research projects and sub-projects in which they are engaged.

The staff member is expected to show individual initiative and engagement in the role insofar as initial job duties as well as evolving Departmental and Institutional initiatives and requirements, trainings, and other aspects of the job in an increasingly competitive research, clinical, technical, and regulatory environment.

Due to the potential for patient safety and/or deadline driven issues, communication and/or extended work outside the posted hours is expected as needed.

This position will report administratively to the Site Manager at Penn Medicine University City (PMUC) and will report, on a study-specific basis, to the respective principal investigators at Weightman Hall. The CRC-A for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery will also work on Department level research, education, and quality/process improvement initiatives as required.

Position is contingent on continued funding.


A Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 1 year to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
UPHS clinical clearance is required per institutional policy. Other clearances may apply either at the time of hire or later. Some travel to other sites is expected and a valid driver’s license is required. Ready access to a vehicle is a plus.

Must pass Pennsylvania’s Child Protective Services Act (also known as Act 73) background checks, within 30-90 days of employment.
