Penn Athletics is a broad-based Division that serves the University community through 33 intercollegiate varsity programs and diverse recreational offerings. Penn is home to two of the most iconic venues in college athletics, The Palestra and Franklin Field. The Quakers are proud members of the Ivy League. The Division aims to make an impact through athletics by empowering individual excellence and fostering community through varsity, club, and recreational activities. Penn Campus Recreation sponsors 36 club sports and hundreds of intramural teams to provide opportunities to students, both undergraduate and graduate, and faculty/staff. Duties

The Assistant Director of Structured Sports is responsible for the administration of a comprehensive intramural and sport club program for the University of Pennsylvania while overseeing special events. Responsible for the daily management and operations with emphasis placed planning, scheduling, and evaluating all intramurals and sport clubs. Ensures consistent enforcement and execution of policies, procedures, and proper risk management practices. This position receives direct administrative supervision and guidance from the Director of Programs and supervises both the Coordinator of Intramurals, Special Events & Programs, and Coordinator of Sport Clubs.

Qualifications

A BA/BS Degree, Masters preferred, or more and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A degree with an emphasis in recreational sports management, college student personnel, student affairs, or other related area is preferred. A strong background in risk management, especially as it relates to intramural sports and registered student organization sport clubs, is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of intramural sports league scheduling and registered student organization sport club programs or equivalent experience. Requires effective organizational, management, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy is required. Experience with Intramurals and/or Sports Clubs or equivalent. Previous supervisory experience and experience in a collegiate athletic facility strongly preferred. A working knowledge of financial operations is preferred.

The scope of the position requires attendance at evening and/or weekend activities, meetings, and workshops.
