The Office of Audit, Compliance and Privacy functions in partnership with University and Penn Medicine management to anticipate and aggressively manage operational, financial, compliance, information technology and privacy risks; ensure the integrity of Penn’s systems of internal control; and ensure strong stewardship and management accountability at all levels. http://www.upenn.edu/oacp/

Duties

The Senior Privacy Investigator will have primary responsibility for overseeing and implementing the internal privacy investigations function for Penn Medicine, reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer for Penn Medicine. The Senior Privacy Investigator will develop and maintain necessary SOPs, templates, and standards relating to the conduct and documentation of investigations. This role also involves conducting and documenting numerous internal investigations relating to potential violations of federal, state, Penn Medicine or other privacy requirements. Close coordination required with other functional areas, including Human Resource, Information Security, the Office of General Counsel and unit leadership in conducting investigations. This position calls for professionalism, experience, discretion and judgement as well as sound decision making to obtain appropriate and quality outcomes through collaborative efforts.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years of experience in privacy, compliance, and/or investigations, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters or other advanced degree or certification preferred.
