Duties

The primary function of this position is to provide assistance to the nursing department, as well as veterinary students on campus and veterinary staff. The nursing assistant has vital duties that help maintain the hospital, including helping with patient care, teaching and general hospital maintenance.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our patient care team, with minimal of a high school diploma or equivalent. Individual must have at least 1 year of experience in either caring for horses in a stable or barn (even if they are your own) , or another veterinary hospital. Previous veterinary experience is not required, but will be seen as an advantage when filling this position. The individual must be comfortable handling all types of horses, including stallions, racehorses, and foals. Experience with other large animal species such as cows, sheep, goats, and cammelid species will also be advantageous for this position. The individual must be able to work independently, and able to communicate well with colleagues. Current available shift is overnight, from 10pm-7:30am , for an average of 4 days a week, including at least two weekends a month.POSITION LOCATED IN KENNETT SQ. NO PUBLIC TRANS> AVAIL.
