School/Center Overview

The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Bioinformatician. The position will focus on generating and analyzing data from genomics technologies used to interrogate the function and differentiation of mouse and human T cells. Perform database and tool development to manage microarray, RNA-seq and epigenetic (ChIP-seq and ATAC-seq) datasets. Monitor and utilize datasets from publicly available repositories, including GEO, to integrate data with other data in the field. Employ genomics and statistics tools to analyze the data. Assist in design of experiments for best analysis results. Employ technically complex commercial and other software packages for genomics and statistics applications. Implement academically developed algorithms, and assist in writing manuscripts with other investigators in the lab, with a focus on the technical methods sections for publications and/or grant submissions.


Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field and three (3) years of experience in data analysis for genomics, DNA sequence management, database construction and statistics. Must have at least one (1) year of experience performing wet bench laboratory experimentation.

This is an ongoing, grant-funded position.
