Duties

The Critical Infrastructure IT Support Specialist, Sr., reporting to Director of Security Technology, will be a creative self-starter with a high energy level. Responsibilities include: management, support, and development of proprietary technology supporting the Division of Public Safety. This technology is encapsulated in hardware, software and networking of emergency telephony, land mobile radio, mobile data terminals, CCTV, access control, burglar alarms, and related emergency communication and security technology. The Critical Infrastructure IT Support Specialist, Sr will be responsible for staying abreast of emerging trends in Emergency Communications and Security Technology, collaborating with department and neighboring police along with University partners and vendors. Will serve as the tier 2 escalation point for all related technology and will assist/manage the Critical Infrastructure IT Support Specialist, Jr. The Critical Infrastructure IT Support Specialist, Sr. will support the Divisional IT Support Specialist, Sr.. in collaborating on Division IT technology including management and configuration of the physical and virtual server infrastructure, management of firewalls, network switches, and securing divisional IT technology.

Qualifications

Experience with the following technologies: Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, VMware vSphere, VMware ESX, VMware vcenter, windows 7,10, Microsoft SharePoint, Symantec Endpoint Protection, SQL Server, Crystal Reports, Group Policy, Microsoft IIS, Cisco Firewalls, Forinet Firewalls, Dell Switches, Kace K1000, Video Management systems, access control systems, 911 Telephony systems, 911 Dispatch radio consoles, Computer Aided Dispatch software, Land mobile radios, Software House C-Cure, burglar alarm systems, and Genetec Security Center.

Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to interact with DPS personnel at all levels is required. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, at times with strict deadlines. Must work well both as part of a team as well as independently. Excellent analytical skills and ability to learn new technologies are required. Must be physically able to life 50 lbs. and move about actively. Must be able available to provide 24 hour hardware and software support for the DPS Information and Security Technology infrastructure as part of on-call rotation.

A bachelor’s degree is required and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in Genetec, Software House C-Cure, Comp TIA Network+, and Microsoft server products a plus.
