Duties

The Clinical Trials Manager will be responsible for the overall management of clinical trials in the GI Division. The duties of this position include: Negotiation with industry of all new clinical trials with input from the Principal Investigators (PI); Creation of study budgets with input from Clinical Research Coordinators; Assist with the development of study protocols; Entering studies in the Proposal Development system for University approvals; Processing confidentiality disclosure agreements, working with the Penn Center for Innovation and Office of General Counsel; Set up new trials as awarded; Process monthly invoicing; Meet monthly with PI’s and Clinical Research Coordinators to review study budgets, spending guidelines and projected effort; Work closely with Payroll Coordinator to ensure salaries are charged to studies as negotiated in budgets; Meet monthly with GI finance team to discuss clinical trial portfolio. This position reports to the Senior Administrator within the department and has a dotted reporting line to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. We are looking for a candidate with strong negotiating skills; past experience preferred. The candidate must be able to function independently as well as part of a team, be organized and able to multitask. Prior experience with clinical trials would be preferred, but not required. Candidate will need to work collaboratively with faculty, trainees, staff and grants management.
