The School of Arts and Sciences forms the foundation of the scholarly excellence that has established Penn as one of the world’s leading research universities. We teach students across all 12 Penn schools, and our academic departments span the reach from anthropology and biology to sociology and South Asian studies.


In collaboration with the College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS), the Assistant Coordinator provides administrative and logistical coordination for the Master of Applied Positive Psychology program (MAPP). Duties include coordinating aspects of the application and admission processes, fielding questions from applicants, organizing the logistics of classes, managing the classroom environment at on-site weekends and program-related events, organizing meetings for current and prospective students, serving as a point of contact for students’ logistical concerns, updating and maintaining program performance data as appropriate, and handling inquiries to the master’s program. This position reports to the Program Coordinator of the MAPP program.


High School degree and 3 year to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred. Must be detail oriented and highly organized. Excellent oral and written communication skills, professional demeanor, and service orientation. Ability to work on evenings and weekends required – MAPP classes take place during 10 weekends between September and April and there are other occasional evening and/or weekend activities throughout the year. Knowledge of College Net, Footprints, and Canvas preferred, but not required. Must be comfortable interacting with people of all ages, nationalities, and professional backgrounds. Knowledge of and interest in positive psychology is a plus.
