Duties

For the Wolf Humanities Center (formerly Penn Humanities Forum) and Price Lab for Digital Humanities, coordinate and help plan day-to-day program activities and oversee smooth, efficient functioning of exchange between two centers. Work with senior leadership to develop public relations and marketing strategies that respond to current media trends, and implement those strategies across both centers through inventive use of social media, creative design and video work, and thoughtful curation of content. Under limited supervision, manage logistics for all special events, seminars, and fellowship programs, as well as all research projects and curricular programs. For special events and seminars, oversee venue bookings and setup, guest speaker arrangements, vendors, and contracts. For fellowship, research, and curricular programs, oversee databases and expense management for faculty fellows and researchers. Supervise full-time and temporary staff, including administrative coordinator, graduate research assistant, and student workers. Provide administrative support to the Director and Associate Director of the Wolf Humanities Center and the Managing Director of the Price Lab. Position reports to Associate Director, Wolf Humanities Center, and Managing Director, Price Lab for Digital Humanities.

Qualifications

BA/BS required, with 2 to 3 years of experience in special events planning, management, and promotion, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 to 7 years of experience are strongly preferred. Must have strong skills in graphic, video, and media design as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with grants management and working with complex budget spreadsheets helpful. Must work collaboratively with others, independently as necessary, and strategically with senior leadership on a wide variety of projects and programs. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
